Este anúncio coincidiu com a notícia de que o CRPG aclamado pela crítica, Pathfinder: Kingmaker, atingiu 1 milhão de vendas em todo o mundo para PC, Xbox One e PlayStation 4.
Lançado em setembro de 2018, Pathfinder: Kingmaker começou como um projeto Kickstarter e é baseado na campanha Pathfinder Adventure Path de mesmo nome.

A Owlcat Games e a META Publishing irão lançar Pathfinder: The Wrath of the Righteous no mundo todo para PC em 02 de setembro de 2021; com as edições para PlayStation 4 e Xbox One chegando às lojas em 01 de março de 2022.
Pré-encomendas para a versão para PC estão disponíveis no Steam, Epic Games Store e GOG por US$49.99.
